Position Overview:
The Pilot in Command holds the critical responsibility of ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely operation of Sun Air Jets aircraft. This includes providing a comfortable and seamless experience for discerning clientele. Collaboration is key, as the chosen candidate will fly alongside the owner, who holds the necessary type rating and PIC qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain unwavering compliance with all governing regulations, company manuals, policies, and operations specifications.
- Exercise sound judgment and aeronautical decision-making to ensure the safe and efficient execution of every flight.
- Lead the decision-making process related to the safe operation of Sun Air Jets aircraft.
- Proactively assess and anticipate flight environment changes, identifying and mitigating potential operational threats or errors.
- Maintain clear and timely communication, exchanging vital information, ideas, and instructions with the crew.
- Demonstrate exceptional task management skills to optimize overall crew performance and coordination.
- Foster a positive and collaborative cockpit environment, embracing teamwork, professionalism, and mentorship of junior crewmembers.
- Actively participate in the company's Professional Pilot Development (PDP) Program.
- Successfully complete all required company and FAA proficiency checks and training courses.
- Represent Sun Air Jets favorably, upholding company policies and embodying its commitment to excellence.
- Engage in the company's aviation safety program (SMS), promoting open communication, reporting safety hazards, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Company Chief Pilot and/or Assistant Chief Pilot.
Qualifications:
- Unrestricted FAA Airline Transport Pilot and Multi-engine Land Certificate
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with an airplane multiengine class rating and English Proficiency endorsement (BE300 Type Rating preferred)
- Minimum 3,000 hours total flight time
- Minimum 1,000 hours multi-engine flight time
- Minimum 1,000 hours jet/turbine flight time
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- First Class Medical Certificate
- US citizenship or proof of right to work in the US
- Current US Passport
- Clean flight record with no accidents, incidents, or enforcements
- No DUI/DWI convictions
- Ability to conduct Part 135 flights in and out of Canada
- Open availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions (ICAO compliant)
