Essential Responsibilities

The Avro RJ Captain is fundamentally responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft as Pilot-in-Command (PIC). Key duties include:

• Operating Avro RJ aircraft safely and efficiently as PIC throughout Northern Canadian routes.
• Maintaining currency with all available flight information, including meteorological data, applicable Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) where available, and verifying the accuracy of Type A flight plans.
• Diligent participation in all required aircraft pre-flight inspections, as well as the execution of necessary post-flight duties.

Qualifications

Summit Air requires candidates who meet or exceed the following mandatory qualifications. Strong commitment to safety and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Mandatory Requirements

• Current Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
• Minimum of 4,000 hours Total Time.
• Minimum of 2,500 hours Multi-Pilot-in-Command (MPIC) time on aircraft greater than 5,700 kg.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment drug and alcohol testing protocols.
• Ability to obtain a Canadian Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
• Possession of a current Passport with the unrestricted ability to travel to the United States and Europe for training or operations, if required.

Highly Desirable Assets

• Minimum of 500 hours on a Jet aircraft.
• Previous experience operating in High Arctic environments.
• Significant Glass Cockpit experience.
