Job Summary
The Flight Operations Assistant will support the Pilot in all phases of flight preparation and operation. This role involves ensuring aircraft readiness, assisting with in-flight procedures, and maintaining passenger safety and comfort. The Flight Operations Assistant will also assume command responsibilities if the Pilot is incapacitated.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Pilot in flight preparation and operation of the aircraft.
- Notify the Pilot of any variations in standard flight operations.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections to ensure navigation, safety, and operating systems are functioning properly.
- Support take-offs and landings as directed by the Captain.
- Assist the Pilot in conducting the flight safely and efficiently.
- Assume the responsibility and authority of the Pilot if necessary during the flight.
- Supervise fueling, ground power unit, baggage loading, and appropriate servicing of the aircraft.
- Maintain regular contact with cabin crew to ensure the safety, comfort, and convenience of all passengers.
- Communicate with air traffic control units during take-off, flight, and landing.
- Inspect aircraft operational and technical performance on a regular basis.
- Act quickly and appropriately during environmental changes and emergencies to ensure passenger safety.
- Update the aircraft logbook with flight issues and incidents.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current valid passport.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass FAA Background and Pre-Employment and Random Drug Testing.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Minimum of 1,000 total flight hours.
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) preferred.
