Solairus Aviation is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Challenger 604 / CJ3 Captain to join its esteemed flight operations team based at the KSAT airport in San Antonio, Texas. Essential Responsibilities and Duties

The Challenger 604 / CJ3 Captain is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Challenger 604 and/or CJ3 aircraft. Key duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner, strictly adhering to Solairus Aviation’s policies and procedures and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Thoroughly reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft prior to each flight.
  • Performing a comprehensive pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Executing a complete check of weather conditions and facility status along the intended route of flight, including primary and alternate airports.
  • Ensuring the utmost safety of all passengers, the aircraft, and the flight crew at all times.
  • Accurately completing all required trip paperwork in accordance with current operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

Prospective candidates for the Challenger 604 / CJ3 Captain position should possess the following flight time and certifications:

Flight Time Requirements:

  • Total Time: Minimum of 3,000 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC): Minimum of 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): Minimum of 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land Pilot-in-Command (MEL PIC): Minimum of 500 hours
  • Time in Turbo Jet Aircraft: Minimum of 500 hours
  • Instrument Flight Time: Minimum of 250 hours

Specific Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Must hold a type rating on the Challenger 604, CJ3, or a comparable aircraft.
  • A current First Class Medical Certificate is required.
  • Must be available to work on an on-call basis to meet operational demands.
  • Ability to complete ICAO International Procedures training annually.
  • Primary residence must be within a two-hour drive from KSAT airport, or the candidate must be willing to relocate to the San Antonio, TX area.

Compensation

Solairus Aviation offers competitive compensation based on market conditions derived from multiple industry sources. Solairus crewmembers' salaries range from $50,000 to $500,000 annually, determined by factors such as geographic area, extensive experience, specific equipment type/aircraft flown, assigned job duties, training qualifications, and the particular account served.
