Position Summary

Solairus Aviation is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Challenger 650 Captain to join its esteemed flight operations team in the Northeast region. This pivotal role requires unwavering adherence to all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies, ensuring flight operations are conducted with the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

The Challenger 650 Captain is primarily responsible for:

  • Ensuring the safe and prudent operation of the Challenger 650 aircraft in strict accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual, Solairus Aviation policies and procedures, and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections, meticulously reviewing the aircraft’s maintenance status, and performing comprehensive checks of weather conditions, facilities, and alternate airports along the planned route.
  • Assuming ultimate responsibility for the safety and well-being of all passengers, the aircraft, and the crew during all flight operations.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all required trip paperwork in compliance with current company procedures.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for the Challenger 650 Captain position must meet the following stringent criteria:

Flight Time Requirements:

  • Total Time: Minimum 3,000 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: Minimum 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL) Time: Minimum 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land Pilot-in-Command (MEL PIC) Time: Minimum 500 hours
  • Turbojet Aircraft Time: Minimum 500 hours
  • Instrument Time: Minimum 250 hours

Specific Certifications & Skills:

  • Possession of a current Type Rating on the Challenger 650 aircraft or a comparable business jet is essential.
  • A valid First Class Medical Certificate is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on an on-call basis, accommodating dynamic operational schedules.
  • Capability to complete annual ICAO International procedures training.
  • Primary residence must be within a 1-hour airline commute to major New York City airports (LGA/JFK/EWR).

Compensation

Compensation for Solairus crewmembers is competitive and varies based on market conditions, geographic area, experience level, equipment type/aircraft, specific job duties, training requirements, and the assigned account. Annual remuneration for this role ranges from $50,000 to $500,000.
