Banquet Captain
Location: New England Aquarium
Employment Type: On-call part-time
Pay Range: $26 - $30 per hour
Sodexo is seeking an On-call Banquet Captain to provide on-floor leadership during banquet and catered events. This role involves coordinating service execution, directing banquet staff, and ensuring service delivery meets event requirements and standards. The Banquet Captain will actively participate in event setup, service, and breakdown, prioritizing guest satisfaction and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and alcohol service policies.
- Assist with training and onboarding of banquet service staff.
- Lift and move up to 35 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience.
- Prior lead or captain experience in a banquet or event environment preferred.
- Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol.
- Must maintain a valid alcohol-service certification (e.g., TIPS, TEAM) and comply with state-specific alcohol training requirements.
- A food handler certification may be required.
