About the Role
The primary responsibility of a SkyWest Flight Attendant is to guarantee the safety and comfort of passengers while onboard. This dynamic role involves serving meals and beverages, assisting passengers with baggage, making announcements, and providing leadership and assistance in emergency situations. Flight Attendants are expected to maintain a positive work environment, resolve passenger issues calmly, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and established procedures.
Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalency.

Hold a current, valid U.S. or foreign passport book valid for at least 12 months following the application date, along with any necessary visas for travel to the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.

Exhibit excellent English communication skills for conveying safety information and writing reports.

Be comfortable using basic electronic devices and PEDs for in-flight systems and duties.

Be willing to work varied shifts up to 16 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Be able to travel frequently and spend extended periods alone and without supervision.

Must be reliable and punctual.

Must be willing to relocate to an assigned crew domicile after successful completion of training.
Physical and Appearance Qualifications

Height and weight must be conducive to safe aircraft operation, with a height range of 5'0" to 6'0" without shoes.

Must be physically capable of performing tasks such as frequent walking, bending, reaching, opening emergency exits, closing aircraft doors (up to 45 lbs), pushing beverage carts (up to 250 lbs), and lifting items.

Corrected vision must not exceed 20/40.

Normal or corrected hearing range within 15-17kHZ.

Maintain a professional, neat, and clean appearance.

Hair styles and colors must be moderate.

Specific guidelines apply to piercings (single stud nose piercing 2mm or smaller; two piercings per ear; gauges must be plugged and not exceed ½”). Other facial piercings are not permitted.

Visible tattoos are permitted with limitations on dimension and location; those outside guidelines must be covered. Offensive tattoos are not permitted.

Must wear a company-issued uniform and compliant face mask/covering as required.
Compensation and Benefits

Guaranteed 76 flight hours as a reserve after completing initial training.

Starting pay of $30.32 per flight hour.

Per diem of $2.25 per hour while on duty away from domicile.
