About the Role

SkyWest Airlines, the largest independently owned regional airline, is seeking dedicated Flight Attendants to ensure passenger safety and provide exceptional customer service. This dynamic role involves travel, meeting new challenges, and embodying the SkyWest brand. The position is based in various crew domiciles across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers onboard the aircraft.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Prepare, serve, and restock in-flight beverages, meals, and snacks, and sell onboard food and beverages.
  • Greet passengers, assist with carry-on baggage, and deliver onboard announcements.
  • Provide leadership and assistance in emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Resolve passenger situations calmly during flight, including medical emergencies.
  • Inspect and operate aircraft cabin components, systems, and emergency equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Adhere to established procedures and performance standards without supervision.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Possession of a current, valid U.S. or foreign passport book valid for at least 12 months following the application date, and any necessary visas for travel between the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
  • Excellent English communication skills for providing safety information and writing reports.
  • Comfortable utilizing basic functions of electronic devices and PEDs for onboard systems and transactions.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts up to 16 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel frequently and spend extended periods alone and without supervision.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Willingness to relocate to an assigned crew domicile after successful completion of training.

Physical and Appearance Qualifications

  • Height between 5'0" and 6'0" without shoes, and weight proportionate to allow for safe operation of aircraft and movement within the cabin.
  • Physically able to perform tasks including walking, bending, reaching, opening emergency exits, closing aircraft doors (up to 45 lbs), pushing beverage carts (up to 250 lbs), and lifting/storing items.
  • Corrected vision should not exceed 20/40.
  • Normal or corrected hearing range within 15-17kHZ.
  • Professional, neat, and clean overall appearance.
  • No extreme hair styles or colors.
  • Specific piercing and tattoo guidelines apply, requiring coverage for visible tattoos that do not meet limitations.
  • Must wear a company-issued uniform and compliant face mask/covering as required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Guaranteed 76 flight hours as a reserve after completing initial training.
  • Starting pay of $30.32 per flight hour.
  • Per diem of $2.25 for every hour on duty away from the domicile.
