Primary Job Duties

The primary responsibility of a Flight Attendant is to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers while upholding high service standards. Key duties include:

  • Ensuring passenger safety and comfort throughout the flight.
  • Maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Preparing and serving in-flight beverages, meals, and snacks, and managing onboard sales.
  • Greeting passengers, assisting with carry-on baggage, and delivering safety announcements.
  • Providing leadership during emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Resolving passenger-related issues, including medical emergencies and disorderly conduct.
  • Inspecting and operating safety and emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers, oxygen systems, and escape slides.
  • Adhering to all established safety regulations and performance standards independently.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a current, valid U.S. or foreign passport book (valid for at least 12 months from the application date) and necessary visas for travel between the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
  • Excellent English communication skills, including the ability to write clear, factual reports.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices and Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs).
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts up to 16 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work independently.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to relocate to assigned crew domiciles (Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Boise, ID; Chicago, IL; Colorado Springs, CO; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Fresno, CA; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Milwaukee, WI; Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Palm Springs, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; Tucson, AZ).

Physical and Professional Requirements

  • Height must be between 5'0" and 6'0" (without shoes) to safely operate aircraft components and utilize jump seats.
  • Physical ability to walk frequently, bend, reach above shoulder level, open emergency exits, close aircraft doors (up to 45 lbs), and maneuver beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).
  • Corrected vision must not exceed 20/40; hearing must be within 15-17kHZ range.
  • Professional appearance standards apply, including specific guidelines for hair, tattoos, and piercings.
  • Requirement to wear a company-issued uniform and face coverings as directed.

Compensation and Benefits

After successful completion of Initial New Hire training, Flight Attendants receive a guarantee of 76 flight hours. The starting rate is $30.32 per flight hour. Additionally, employees receive $2.25 per diem for every hour on duty away from their assigned domicile.
