Position Overview: Flight Attendant

Primary Job Duties

  • Ensure the safety and comfort of customers throughout the duration of the flight.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive environment for both passengers and fellow crew members.
  • Prepare, serve, and restock in-flight beverages, meals, and snacks; manage onboard liquor and food sales.
  • Greet passengers, assist with carry-on baggage stowage, and deliver official onboard announcements.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and assistance during emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Manage and resolve passenger conflicts, including disorderly behavior and medical emergencies.
  • Maintain safety regulation compliance by inspecting and operating cabin systems and emergency equipment, including escape slides, fire extinguishers, oxygen bottles, and automated external defibrillators (AED).
  • Perform all duties according to established performance standards with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a current, valid U.S. or foreign passport book (valid for at least 12 months from the application date) and necessary visas for travel between the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
  • Excellent English communication skills, including the ability to provide safety briefings and write detailed, factual reports regarding security or emergency events.
  • Proficiency in utilizing personal electronic devices (PEDs) for audio/video system operation, transaction processing, and training requirements.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts of up to 16 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work independently.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
  • Willingness to relocate to an assigned crew domicile following successful completion of InFlight Training. Domiciles include: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Boise, ID; Chicago, IL; Colorado Springs, CO; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Fresno, CA; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Palm Springs, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; and Tucson, AZ.

Physical and Appearance Requirements

  • Height must be between 5’0” and 6’0” (without shoes) to ensure safe operation of aircraft equipment and access to emergency exits.
  • Must be physically capable of walking, bending, reaching, opening emergency exits, closing aircraft doors (up to 45 lbs), and moving beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).
  • Corrected vision must not exceed 20/40; hearing must be within the 15-17kHZ range.
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and clean appearance consistent with company uniform and grooming standards.
  • Specific guidelines apply regarding tattoos, hair styles, and piercings; offensive tattoos and extreme hair colors are prohibited.
  • Must wear company-issued uniforms and compliant face coverings as required.

Compensation and Flight Hours

Following the successful completion of Initial New Hire training, Flight Attendants are guaranteed 76 flight hours per month as a reserve. The starting pay rate is $30.32 per flight hour, totaling $2,304.32 in base monthly compensation (excluding per diem and supplemental pay). Additionally, a per diem of $2.25 is provided for every hour on duty away from the domicile.
