This crucial role involves assisting the Pilot-in-Command in all aspects of flight operations, ensuring the safety and efficiency of each flight, and contributing to the timely departure of aircraft.

About the Role

  • Assist the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in conducting flight operations safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the PIC and/or passenger service personnel to ensure prompt aircraft departures.
  • Provide support to or relieve the PIC in the manipulation of aircraft flight controls, including taxiing, takeoff, and landing.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and availability to work assigned schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on pilot bidding seniority.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Possession of a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings.
  • English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE) on the Airman Certificate.
  • A current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizen or proof of right to work).
  • Hold an FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
  • A current Passport or other valid travel documents enabling free exit and re-entry to the U.S. (multiple re-entry status) and legal employment in the U.S.
  • Availability to work any day, seven days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be within three months of meeting the minimum flight hour requirements as detailed under FAR 61.159 prior to employment.

Pilot Experience Requirements

  • Pilot applicants must meet the experience requirements of FAR 61.159 prior to employment.
  • SkyWest Airlines provides the means to complete a SkyWest-approved CTP (Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program) course for candidates who successfully complete the application and pilot interview process.
  • SkyWest accepts helicopter or glider time towards an applicant's total time, provided they possess a minimum of 250 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours in fixed-wing aircraft.
