SkyWest Airlines is actively seeking highly skilled and motivated First Officers (FO) to join its expanding team. This pivotal pilot role involves supporting the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in the safe and efficient operation of flights across various U.S. domiciles.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S., possessing proper working documents.
  • A current Passport or other valid travel documents enabling multiple re-entry into the U.S. is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on pilot bidding seniority.
  • Applicants should be within three months of meeting the minimum flight hour requirements at the time of application.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings.
  • Possess an English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE) on their Airman Certificate.
  • Maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Hold an FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
  • Must meet the experience requirements of FAR 61.159 prior to employment.
  • For pilot applicants with helicopter or glider flight time, a minimum of 250 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) fixed-wing hours is required for this time to be accepted towards total flight time.
  • SkyWest will facilitate a SkyWest-approved CTP course for candidates who successfully complete the application and interview process and meet the ATP Written Requirement.

About the Role

The primary duties of a First Officer include:

  • Assisting the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in conducting flights safely and efficiently.
  • Supporting the PIC and/or passenger service personnel as needed to ensure prompt departures.
  • Assisting or relieving the PIC in the manipulation of aircraft flight controls during all phases of flight, including taxiing, takeoff, and landing.
