Professional Pilot Opportunities

SkyWest Airlines is currently seeking qualified, safety-oriented aviation professionals to join our flight operations team. This role is responsible for supporting the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to ensure the safe, efficient, and punctual operation of all flights, including assistance with flight controls, taxiing, takeoff, and landing procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the PIC in maintaining safe and efficient flight operations.
  • Collaborate with the PIC and passenger service personnel to facilitate prompt departures.
  • Support or relieve the PIC in the manipulation of aircraft flight controls during all phases of flight, including taxiing, takeoff, and landing.

Candidate Qualifications

To be considered for a pilot position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings.
  • Possess an English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE) on the Airman Certificate.
  • Maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Hold a valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
  • Possess a current passport or travel documents allowing for unrestricted exit and re-entry into the U.S.
  • Be within three months of achieving the required minimum flight hours.
  • Meet the experience requirements mandated by FAR 61.159 prior to employment.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Requirements and Information

  • Helicopter/Glider Experience: Helicopter and glider time is accepted toward total time, provided the applicant has a minimum of 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
  • ATP Certification: SkyWest provides a company-approved CTP course for candidates who successfully complete the application and interview process.
  • Scheduling: Flight assignments are based on pilot bidding seniority.
