Professional Pilot Opportunities

SkyWest Airlines is currently seeking qualified professional pilots to join our flight operations team. This role is responsible for assisting the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, including the manipulation of flight controls during taxi, takeoff, landing, and en-route phases, as well as coordinating with passenger service personnel to ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pilot-in-Command in maintaining safe and efficient flight operations.
  • Support the PIC and ground personnel to ensure prompt and efficient departures.
  • Execute flight control operations, including taxiing, takeoff, and landing, under the direction of the PIC.
  • Maintain availability for a dynamic flight schedule, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays, based on pilot bidding seniority.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess documentation verifying the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings.
  • Possess an English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE) on the Airman Certificate.
  • Hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Possess a valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
  • Maintain a current passport or equivalent travel documentation permitting entry and exit from the U.S.
  • Must be within three months of meeting minimum hour requirements.
  • Must satisfy the experience requirements of FAR 61.159 prior to employment.
  • Helicopter/Glider experience is accepted, provided the applicant has a minimum of 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.

Certification and Training

Applicants must meet the ATP written requirement. SkyWest provides access to a SkyWest-approved Certification Training Program (CTP) course for candidates who successfully complete the application and interview process.

Flight operations are based in the following regions: Arizona (Phoenix, Tucson); California (Fresno, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco); Colorado (Colorado Springs, Denver); Georgia (Atlanta); Idaho (Boise); Illinois (Chicago); Minnesota (Minneapolis/St. Paul); Michigan (Detroit); Oregon (Portland); Texas (Austin, Dallas, Houston); Utah (Salt Lake City); and Washington (Seattle).
