Pilot Job Description
This position entails primary job duties related to safe and efficient flight operations. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age. They must hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings, as well as an English Proficiency Endorsement on their Airman Certificate. A current FAA First Class Medical Certificate is mandatory. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or able to provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. A Federal Communications Commission Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit is also required. Candidates must have a current Passport, or other travel documentation, permitting free exit and re-entry into the U.S. and be legally eligible to work in the U.S. Flexibility is essential, as the position requires availability to work any day of the week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants must be within three months of meeting the minimum hour requirements detailed below, and meet the experience requirements of FAR 61.159 prior to employment. SkyWest will facilitate a company-approved CTP course for qualified applicants who successfully pass the pilot interview. SkyWest acknowledges helicopter and glider flight experience, accepting this time towards the applicant's total time, provided they possess a minimum of 250 Pilot-in-Command hours in fixed-wing aircraft.
Pilot Responsibilities:
- Assist the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in ensuring safe and efficient flight operations.
- Support the PIC and passenger service personnel to facilitate prompt departures.
- Assist or relieve the PIC in controlling the aircraft during all phases of flight, including taxiing, takeoff, and landing.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Possess a valid First Class Medical Certificate.
- Be available to work assigned schedules based on pilot bidding seniority, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
