Westwind Jet Captain

SkyCare is currently seeking a highly qualified Westwind Jet Captain to support both air ambulance and charter operations. Based at the Kitchener–Waterloo (CYKF) base, the successful candidate will conduct multi-engine turbine IFR operations across domestic and international routes, including missions throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Role Overview

The Westwind Jet Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, ensuring the safety of crew members, passengers, and patients. This position requires exemplary leadership, sound operational judgment, and a high level of professionalism while managing long-range, time-sensitive, and client-facing missions. Pilots are expected to strictly adhere to company SOPs, policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of initial company training and a Pilot Proficiency Check (PPC) administered by a Transport Canada Inspector or an Approved Check Pilot.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executing multi-engine turbine IFR operations within a dynamic, multi-mission environment.
  • Conducting a balanced mix of air ambulance and corporate charter flying.
  • Performing international operations across North America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
  • Managing long-range and time-sensitive mission profiles.
  • Providing specialized support for patient transport operations.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

  • Minimum 3,000 hours total flight time.
  • Minimum 500 hours Multi-Engine Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
  • Current Group 1 Instrument Rating.
  • Valid Category 1 Medical.
  • Valid Canadian Passport with the ability to travel internationally, including to the United States.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Certificate.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous multi-engine turbine or jet experience.
  • Prior experience in corporate or charter operations.
  • Proven capability operating in IFR, multi-crew environments.
  • Previous international and/or long-range operational experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to dynamic schedules and time-sensitive operational requirements.
