The Opportunity: Citation Ultra/Encore Second-in-Command (SIC)
Silverhawk Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and committed Part-Time Citation Ultra/Encore Second-in-Command (SIC) to join its dynamic flight operations team based in Lincoln, Nebraska. This critical role involves supporting the Pilot in Command on charter flights, frequently serving dedicated repeat clients traveling to popular vacation destinations throughout the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean. Contract pilots may enjoy several nights of their rotation at home, contributing to an improved work-life balance. All Citation flights are conducted with a Pilot in Command (PIC) and a Second-in-Command (SIC).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Second-in-Command will:
- Report directly to the Pilot in Command (PIC) and diligently perform all assigned duties.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight aircraft inspections, including comprehensive cockpit checks.
- Ensure the galley is properly stocked with amenities such as coffee, ice, snacks, and beverages prior to departure.
- Oversee the tidiness of the aircraft cabin, ensuring it is free of trash, seatbelts are neatly arranged, and supplies like coffee and ice are replenished or emptied upon flight termination.
- Maintain meticulous records and monitor flight-time and duty-time to ensure strict compliance with CFR ยง 135 regulations and the Silverhawk Aviation Operations Manual.
Qualifications and Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a CE-500 Type Rating.
- A minimum of 1,000 hours of total flight time.
- A minimum of 50 hours of multi-engine flight time is preferred.
- Hold a Multi-Commercial Pilot Certificate; an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is preferred, and Silverhawk Aviation will provide assistance to hired pilots in obtaining their ATP if required.
- Maintain 90-day currency.
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport.
- Demonstrate a clean FAA record.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must reside within a two (2) hour drive from the Lincoln Airport (1751 W Kearney Ave, Lincoln, NE 68524).
