Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers while they are on our aircraft.
  • Respond to customer needs while on our aircraft.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be fluent in English. The ability to speak, read and write, in English, is required.
  • Must be willing & able to relocate according to operational needs.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and great communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to handle pressure in stressful situations and to accept personal responsibility in resolving concerns.
  • Good judgment, excellent dependability and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from your base airport (our bases are Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and San Juan) and be free from daily encumbrances that would prevent you from being able to work on a consistent basis. Must live within 90 minutes of your base.
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, stoop, lift up to 35 pounds (assisting customers with stowing their carry-on luggage,) stand for long periods of time and cope with outside climate conditions.
  • Your Duty Day can be 14 hours. Must be willing and able to work a full duty day.
  • Professional in appearance, demeanor, and attitude. Must maintain a positive attitude at all times.
  • Ability to comprehend and retain information pertinent to the position.
  • Willing to work "reserve" status until you can hold a set schedule.

Requirements:

  • Valid US Passport or Foreign Passport with applicable visas required.
  • Valid Driver’s License Required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age by commencement of training.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college education with degree, preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Screen, and FBI Fingerprint & Criminal Background Check.
  • Must have no visible tattoos while wearing the Flight Attendant company issued uniform.
  • Must comply with Company Uniform Guidelines.
  • Must be able to sit as required in a jump seat and be able to fasten a 4-point jump seat harness without the use of extending devices.
  • Must be able to work as scheduled. Any personal plans scheduled during Training and/or the first 6 months of employment must be disclosed to the recruiter or interviewing staff prior to being offered an invitation to class.
  • Must be able to work long hours, be exposed to outside environmental conditions (heat, rain, etc.) and spend nights away from home.

Successful Candidates:

  • Are provided transportation to training in Fort Lauderdale (if outside the city in which you reside) hotel accommodations (double occupancy in most cases) and a stipend during training. Please be financially prepared for pay fluctuations as you transition from trainee to crew member. Training is 4 weeks.
  • Should be mindful that relocation is the sole responsibility of each Inflight team member.
  • Understand that a prerequisite to employment is the successful completion of all training and training requirements.
  • Understand the average height of the aircraft interior cabin is under 6’0” and the average aisle width is 18.” You must be able to maneuver comfortably within the cabin space.
  • Must be able to manually open and close an aircraft door, lift, and discard an object weighing more than 26 pounds, and have the manual dexterity to maneuver and use all emergency equipment.
  • Are prepared to join the AFA with all the rights and requisite fees therein.
