Position Summary:
Seaborne Airlines seeks a highly qualified Twin Engine Seaplane Captain to join its esteemed team. This critical role requires significant multi-engine float experience and the capability to operate safely within tropical marine environments, encompassing congested harbors and coastal areas. The Captain will conduct scheduled and charter flight operations to and from key Caribbean destinations, upholding the highest standards of safety, precision, and professionalism on every flight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operates De Havilland DHC6-300 aircraft in strict compliance with FAA Part 121 regulations and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conducts water-based operations proficiently, including takeoffs, landings, taxiing, docking, and mooring.
- Performs comprehensive pre-flight planning and inspections, alongside accurate post-flight documentation.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with dispatch, Air Traffic Control (ATC), ground support personnel, and passengers.
- Adapts swiftly and effectively to dynamic tropical weather patterns and variable sea conditions.
- Delivers safe, efficient, and exceptional passenger service in a highly visible customer-facing capacity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with both Multi-Engine Land and Sea ratings.
- Possesses a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 2,500 total flight hours, including:
- 1,500 hours in multi-engine aircraft.
- 1,000 hours in floatplane operations.
- Demonstrated prior experience in FAA Part 121 or Part 135 flight operations.
- Proven proficiency in seaplane operations within coastal, island, or open water environments.
- U.S. citizenship or legal work authorization valid for operations in U.S. territories and partner countries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Pilot-In-Command (PIC) time in aircraft such as the De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter (on floats), Grumman G-73 Mallard, or comparable aircraft types.
- Operational experience within the Caribbean region or similar tropical maritime environments.
- Familiarity with marine and aviation weather systems prevalent in the Caribbean region.
- Excellent Crew Resource Management (CRM) and communication skills, effectively interacting with a diverse, multicultural passenger base.
