Chief Flight Instructor – Airbus (SAS Scandinavia)

SAS Scandinavia invites applications for the position of Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) for Airbus, a critical leadership role within the SAS Crew Training organization. The successful candidate will oversee Airbus type-related flight training, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within the SAS Approved Training Organisation (ATO).

Role Overview

As the Chief Flight Instructor, you will serve as a key member of the SAS Crew Training and STOOL Operational Management Team. You will hold the designated authority position of CFI, assuming overall responsibility for all Airbus type-related training activities. This role balances strategic oversight with operational leadership in a fast-paced, highly regulated aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain full compliance with SAS Scandinavia OM-D 0.7.5, SAS ATO Manual 0.3.1.1, and EASA regulation ORA.ATO.210.
Provide operational leadership to training personnel and instructors.
Promote continuous improvement in training methodologies while fostering a culture of safety and professionalism.
Allocate time between administrative duties (75%) and active flight operations (25%).

Candidate Requirements

Professional Experience: Extensive training experience in accordance with ORA.ATO.210, including a minimum of 500 hours of instructional flying on a relevant aircraft type.
Licensing: Must be an active pilot on a SAS-relevant Airbus aircraft type.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and one Scandinavian language.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, specifically the Microsoft Office suite.
Personal Attributes: A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and innovation. Candidates should be self-driven, structured, solution-oriented, and flexible, with a strong aptitude for team leadership.
