The company is actively recruiting skilled pilots for its modern short-haul fleets, specifically the Airbus A320 and the Embraer 195. Minimum Requirements for Application

Candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria. All required documentation, licenses, and certificates must be valid and current at the time of application submission. Non-Scandinavian EASA licenses are accepted but require conversion prior to commencing the training course.

Note on Pre-Employment Checks: Successful applicants must undergo a comprehensive background check, a personal security interview, and a mandated drug and alcohol test. The security interview and testing procedures will be conducted in the applicant’s assigned base city.

Starting Salary Structure (Gross Monthly Figures)

The gross monthly starting salary for First Officers is fixed according to collective agreements and determined by type rating status and total flight hours. Daily allowances based on duty length and destination are provided additionally.

Recruitment and Assessment Process

The SAS Pilot Recruitment process is rigorous and comprises multiple stages designed to assess technical proficiency and cultural fit. Progression through each step is conditional upon successful completion of the preceding stage:

  1. CV Screening: Review of qualifications, licenses, and verified flying experience (total hours, PIC, and PICUS).
  2. Video Interview: Candidates record responses to a structured set of predefined questions.
  3. Online Interview: A live, scheduled interview conducted with an SAS recruiter.
  4. Online Tests: Administration of cognitive and personality assessments.
  5. Assessment Day: Includes practical group exercises, a full flight simulator session, and a personal interview with the assessment team.
  6. Final Checks: Completion of mandatory background screening, personal security interview, and drug & alcohol testing.
