Minimum Requirements
Prospective First Officers must meet the following essential criteria:
- Possession of an EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (A), Commercial Pilot Licence (A), or Multi-Crew Pilot License*.
- A valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Successful completion of an Advanced UPRT course.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or 6.
- An unrestricted right to live and work within the European Union.
- A clean criminal record.
- Completion of an MCC Course.
All aforementioned requirements must be fully met, and all licenses and certificates must be valid and up-to-date at the time of application.
As a prerequisite for employment at SAS, selected candidates will undergo a comprehensive background check, a personal security interview, and a drug and alcohol test. Both the security interview and testing are required to be conducted in the city designated as the candidate's future base.
*Non-Scandinavian EASA licenses are accepted, but conversion to a Scandinavian EASA license is mandatory prior to the commencement of training.

Starting Salary for First Officers
Starting salaries for First Officers at SAS are structured based on experience and type rating status (relevant type rating: Airbus A320 or Embraer 195), with gross monthly ranges provided in Danish Kroner (DKK), Norwegian Kroner (NOK), and Swedish Kroner (SEK). It is important to note that these figures represent gross salaries before tax. SAS also provides a daily allowance, which varies based on duty length and destinations.

Recruitment Process
The SAS Pilot Recruitment process is designed to thoroughly evaluate candidates and consists of the following sequential stages:
- CV Screening: An initial review of qualifications, licenses, and flying experience.
- Video Interview: Candidates will record responses to a set of predefined questions.
- Online Interview: A live interview conducted remotely with a SAS recruiter.
- Online Tests: Completion of cognitive and personality assessments.
- Assessment Day: Participation in group exercises, a simulator session, and a personal interview.
- Final Checks: Completion of background screening, a personal security interview, and drug & alcohol testing.
