First Officer - Embraer 190/Airbus A320

SAS is seeking qualified and motivated First Officers to join its Embraer 190 and Airbus A320 fleet. This position offers the opportunity to be based in ARN, BGO, CPH, or OSL. As a First Officer, the pilot will begin their journey on some of the industry’s newest and most modern aircraft, the Airbus A320 or Embraer 190. The pilot will operate in some of the world’s busiest airports as well as remote airfields with rapidly changing weather conditions. SAS provides a solid foundation for professional growth and development. With experience and dedication, the pilot can progress to flying the A350 on international routes or work towards becoming a Captain on the EMB190, assuming greater responsibilities and leading a crew.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent piloting skills, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills. They should also have the capacity to cooperate effectively with a wide range of colleagues. Recruitment Process:

Selected candidates will be invited to an online assessment. Successful candidates will then be invited to a physical assessment day, including a group task, a personal interview, and a simulator assessment. During the simulator assessment, the candidate will spend 45 minutes as Pilot Monitoring (PM) and 45 minutes as Pilot Flying (PF).

Transportation and accommodation costs for the assessment are the responsibility of the applicant.

Successful candidates will be offered a start date as soon as possible. Training courses are scheduled for winter and spring 2025, as well as late summer 2025. Medical should be valid for at least 3 months at the time of entering employment.

SAS covers all necessary training costs after employment. Pilots are required to commit to a training bond if their employment is terminated within 36 months.

Employees are entitled to 42 days of vacation per year. Summer vacation is in a rotated system, with 3 weeks during the summer months.

SAS operates with two rostering systems: Variable Group and Fixed Group. All new hires are initially placed in the Variable Group, which provides a minimum of 11 days off per month, with flexibility to influence free weekends and two additional free days through a bidding system.

SAS provides industry-discounted (ID) tickets for leisure travel. SAS also offers staff discount tickets with savings of up to 40%. SAS provides a daily allowance to flight crew to cover expenses incurred while on duty or during training. The allowance amount depends on the length of the workday and the currency of the countries being flown to.
