The airline is entering a significant growth phase, marked by the launch of its most extensive summer program in 2026, encompassing new routes across Europe, North America, and Asia. SAS operates a modern fleet of over 100 narrowbody and widebody aircraft, providing pilots with diverse flying experiences, from challenging Nordic winter conditions to managing high-traffic airspace.

Position Details and Benefits
SAS offers a position as Captain on the A320 fleet, based in Copenhagen. The role commences with a flexible part-time agreement of 83.3% for the initial 24 months, with the option to transition to a full-time 100% contract thereafter.
This opportunity includes attractive benefits such as 42 days of vacation annually and a maximum of 155 working days per year, with no PR-days. The monthly base salary is calculated at 83.3%. Workload will be adjusted seasonally, with approximately 100% capacity during summer months and December, and 50% or 75% during other periods, facilitating an excellent work-life balance and maximizing travel benefits.

Flight Time Requirements
- Minimum 4,000 hours Total Time
- Minimum 2,000 hours in jet aircraft or high-speed turboprop operations
- Minimum 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the A320
- Experience in Nordic winter operations
Minimum Qualifications
- Unrestricted EASA ATPL (A)
- Valid EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (A), Commercial Pilot Licence (A), or Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL). Non-Scandinavian EASA licenses are accepted but require conversion prior to course commencement.
- Valid Medical Class 1 certificate
- Valid Instrument Rating
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or 6
- Unrestricted right to live and work within the European Union (EU)
- Clean criminal record
All specified requirements must be met, and all licenses must be valid and up-to-date at the time of application.
Please note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a mandatory background check, a personal security interview, and a drug and alcohol test. These security procedures must be conducted in Copenhagen.
SAS Pilot Recruitment Process
Candidates selected to proceed will navigate the SAS Pilot Recruitment process, which includes:
- CV Screening: Thorough review of qualifications, licenses, and flying experience.
- Online Interview: A live interview conducted by a recruiter.
- Online Tests: Cognitive and personality assessments.
- Assessment Days: Featuring group exercises, a simulator session, and a personal interview.
- Final Checks: Including background screening, personal security interview, and drug & alcohol testing.
Each stage of the recruitment process is potentially disqualifying. Successful candidates from the initial screening can expect invitations for assessments during Fall/Winter 2025/2026, with employment anticipated to commence in the first half of 2026.
