This role offers fixed bases in Oslo, Bergen, Copenhagen, or Stockholm.

Minimum Requirements

  • Unrestricted EASA ATPL (A) license.
  • Valid Medical Class 1 certificate.
  • Instrument rating.
  • ICAO English Level 5 or higher.
  • Minimum height of 157 cm.
  • Unrestricted legal right to live and work within the European Union.
  • Clean criminal record.

All specified requirements must be met, and all licenses must be valid and up-to-date at the time of application. Candidates are required to undergo a background check, a personal security interview, and a drug and alcohol test, all to be conducted in the designated base city. Non-Scandinavian EASA licenses are accepted but must be converted prior to the commencement of training.

Flight Time Requirements

  • 4,000 total flight hours, including a minimum of 250 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) or PIC Under Supervision (PICUS).
  • OR

  • 3,500 total flight hours, including a minimum of 500 hours as PIC on aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) greater than 16 tonnes.
  • OR

  • 3,000 total flight hours, including a minimum of 1,000 hours as PIC on aircraft with an MTOW greater than 16 tonnes.

SAS Pilot Recruitment Process

Candidates progressing through the SAS Pilot Recruitment process will encounter the following stages:

  • CV Screening: A comprehensive review of qualifications, licenses, and flight experience.
  • Video Interview: Candidates record responses to a predefined set of questions.
  • Online Interview: A live interview conducted by one of SAS's recruitment specialists.
  • Online Tests: Assessments focusing on cognitive abilities and personality traits.
  • Assessment Day: This stage includes group exercises, a simulator session, and a personal interview.
  • Final Checks: This includes background screening, a personal security interview, and drug and alcohol testing.

Each step of the recruitment process is potentially disqualifying. Successful candidates from the initial screening can anticipate assessment invitations during Fall/Winter 2025/2026, with employment commencing in late 2025 or the first half of 2026.
