Saint Louis University is seeking a PRN Flight Instructor in Saint Louis, MO. This role involves providing quality flight instruction for professional pilot programs, ensuring adherence to FAA regulations, and contributing to departmental activities.

About the Role

The PRN Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering scheduled flight lessons, maintaining proficiency across all courses and instructional equipment, and accurately completing all required endorsements and training records. The position requires participation in standardization and stage-check processes, as well as contributing to the development of improved teaching techniques and departmental activities. Duties include conducting flight training, briefings, and ensuring all lessons align with the Training Course Outline. The instructor will also be responsible for managing student flight books and logbooks, submitting stage-check requests, and assisting with aircraft logistics, such as hangar movements and tie-downs.

Requirements

• A Certified Flight Instructor – Airplane (CFI) certificate.
• A valid medical certificate.
• Instructor certification appropriate to the position.
• Knowledge of flight-instruction instrumentation and equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and human-relations skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to instruct, teach, and tutor effectively.
• Proficiency in analytical problem-solving and logical, methodical reasoning.
• Capacity to perform under stressful circumstances.
• Close attention to detail.

Qualifications

• A CFII/MEI certificate is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
