Job Purpose
The Instructor at the Safran Helicopter Engines Academy is responsible for conducting comprehensive training for customers and internal personnel. The role encompasses instruction in the installation, operation, troubleshooting, safety, maintenance, and repair of Safran Helicopter engines, ensuring all training adheres to corporate, EASA, CASA, and Transport Canada regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Implement approved training programs, including course outlines, software presentations, instructional materials, and assessments.

Design shop exercises aligned with corporate standards.

Present technical theory on gas turbines, including oil, air, fuel, control and monitoring, and electrical systems.

Conduct training sessions both on-site and at customer locations, including international travel (up to 35%).

Observe and guide students in maintenance procedures, ensuring assimilation of field practices.

Develop and maintain training aids.

Stay current on engine modifications, publication revisions, and field reporting to integrate updates into the curriculum.

Undergo and support scheduled audits by corporate, EASA, CASA, and Transport Canada entities.
Required Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of related experience in a technical or scientific (Gas Turbine) aeronautical field or Armed Forces equivalent.

Certification:
FAA Powerplant Certificate required.

Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency in Federal Aviation Regulations and EASA Part 147; deep understanding of helicopter and gas turbine theory.

Communication:
Fluency in English (written and verbal).

Software:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).

Compliance:
This is an ITAR-controlled position requiring U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
Preferred Qualifications

Levels 1 and 2 Maintenance certification for Safran Helicopter engines.

Minimum of 6 months of teaching experience.
