SAIC is seeking a full-time Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) to join the Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Seattle ARTCC (ZSE). This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) by providing critical air traffic controller training services.
Please note: This position does not involve UAS, UAV, RPV, or drone piloting.
Position Overview
The Remote Pilot Operator serves as a crucial component of the Air Traffic Controller training simulator. RPOs represent pilots and other controllers during medium and high-fidelity training exercises. Key responsibilities include:

Operating a combination of simulated radar displays and voice communication systems (VCS).

Inputting commands into automated systems to simulate pilot actions based on student instructions.

Translating displayed data into appropriate Air Traffic Control (ATC) terminology.

Communicating effectively with students using professional phraseology via the VCS.
The successful candidate must complete mandatory Classroom certification (airspace and procedures) and Lab certification (performance across all positions).
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic computer proficiency.

Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.

Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and be understood.

US Citizenship.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired Skills and Experience
-
Prior experience working in multidisciplinary teams (e.g., Multimedia Developers, QA, Instructional System Designers, Subject Matter Experts).

Previous experience or certification in an ATC Tower, TRACON, or En Route simulation lab.

Working knowledge of FAAO JO 7110.65.

Familiarity with pilot/controller communications and phraseology.

Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Familiarity with modern technological tools, including tablets and mobile applications.

Strong oral, written, and team-building communication skills.
Compensation
The target salary range for this position is $40,001 – $80,000, commensurate with experience and other relevant factors.
