A320 Rated Type Rating Instructor/Examiner - Lauda Europe Dublin
Lauda Europe, in partnership with Airline Flight Academy, a state-of-the-art training center located in Santry, Dublin, is seeking highly qualified A320 Rated Type Rating Instructors and Examiners to join their growing team.
Successful candidates will deliver exceptional classroom and simulator instruction, contributing to the highest quality of training. This role offers a competitive remuneration package and a fixed roster pattern consisting of 3 blocks of simulator instruction and 1 block of flying, based out of one of Lauda Europe's operational hubs. This schedule adheres to a 5 days on, 4 days off rotation.
Responsibilities
Simulator Duties:
- Type Rating training
- New entry pilot training (OCC & CCQ)
- Delivery of scheduled ground school training
- Review and update of training content
Theoretical Training:
- Delivery of scheduled ground school training duties
- Conduct of Aircraft Performance Training
- Review and update of training content
Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exceptional training and possess exceptional communication skills. A deep understanding of CRM, aircraft systems, and the importance of SOPs is essential.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Unrestricted right to live and work within the European Union.
- Date of Birth - Not over 65 years of age.
- Valid EASA Part FCL Licence.
- Valid EU (Part-MED) issued Class 1 medical certificate.
- Minimum 3,500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum 2,000 hours on a Multi-crew, Multi-engine aircraft exceeding 30,000kg MTOW, accrued with an established airline, cargo operator, private operator, or military transport.
- Minimum 800 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) on a Multi-crew, Multi-engine jet aircraft exceeding 30,000kg. (PIC hours on Turboprop aircraft are not considered).
- Minimum 500 hours PIC on the A320/A330 or A340.
- A320/A330/A340 type rating listed on the EASA license.
- Valid EASA TRI/TRE certificate (to be uploaded alongside license during application).
- Experience as a Captain on applicable Airbus type within the 36 months prior to joining the training course.
- English proficiency at minimum ICAO Level 6.
- Previous Instructional/Checking Experience as an SFI/TRI or TRE is highly regarded.
- Excellent interpersonal and instructional skills.
- Ability to pass an enhanced background check and meet all regulatory requirements.
Assessment and Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment as the first step in the selection process. This assessment is mandated by EASA regulation CAT.GEN.MPA.175 and comprises three phases:
- Phase 1: Online assessment conducted using AON provider (a fee of €60 applies).
- Phase 2: Comprehensive psychological assessment, forming part of the overall Simulator assessment/interview.
- Phase 3: Interview and task with the Head of Training for candidates successful in previous phases.
During Phase 1, Captains are required to complete one online task. Only candidates who successfully complete and meet the minimum standards in Phase 1 will progress to Phase 2, which includes the Simulator Assessment.
