Flight Attendant
Republic Airways seeks a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Flight Attendant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while adhering to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Inflight guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with constant attention to guest needs, providing a safe and comfortable onboard experience.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of emergency procedures and the use of all onboard emergency equipment.
- Operate all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring the ability to exert force up to 70 pounds.
- Provide food and beverage service to passengers, which entails pushing and pulling movable carts exceeding 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a clean and orderly cabin environment.
- Contribute to a reliable and on-time operation by collaborating with crewmembers to meet all reporting, departure, and turn times.
- Perform inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Assist other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling or other duties.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image in conduct and appearance, including adherence to the Company uniform dress code.
- Comply with associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in all applicable manuals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Inflight guides and manuals.
- Promote the Company's core values and culture throughout the work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED, with at least two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Other Requirements:
- Possess exceptional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-centric mindset.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Pursuant to Republic's Flight Attendant Style Guide, tattoos are NOT permitted on the head, face, neck (including behind the ear), chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos are permitted on the arms, wrist, legs, ankles, and feet if less than 2" x 3.25"; otherwise, they must be fully covered by a listed, approved tattoo coverage method.
- Must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- For safety reasons, must have the ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without an extender or other modification that may harm the integrity of the harness. (Reference: Lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened, and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened.)
- Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Speak and be understood in English, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability:
- Willing to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively handle stress associated with meeting deadlines and managing unexpected change.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Remain calm, think, and react quickly in all types of emergency situations, including but not limited to medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.
Decision Making:
- Make day-to-day decisions supporting the operation, often requiring thought and structure.
- Process information quickly and react positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Control personal and emotional responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands:
- Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits using necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Lift objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Push and pull movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- See clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Move about aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment:
- Work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- Accommodate customers' special needs/disabilities.
- Work for extended periods of time and on a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight. Willing to relocate based on the Company's operational needs.
