Flight Attendant - Republic Airways
Overview
Republic Airways, a leading regional airline in North America, seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Flight Attendant to join our team. As a Flight Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers onboard our aircraft, adhering to all FAA and Inflight guidelines.
Essential Duties
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
- Safety and Service: Deliver a safe and comfortable onboard experience for passengers, ensuring all regulatory and assigned cabin duties are completed with meticulous attention to detail.
- Emergency Procedures: Maintain a thorough understanding of all emergency procedures and the operation of emergency equipment. Be proficient in operating all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, demonstrating the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Passenger Service: Provide food and beverage service, which requires pushing and pulling movable carts exceeding 250 pounds. Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage up to 35 pounds.
- Cabin Environment: Maintain a clean and organized cabin environment.
- Operational Efficiency: Contribute to a reliable and timely operation by coordinating with crew members to meet all reporting, departure, and turnaround times.
- Inflight Sales: Perform inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Customer Service: Assist other Customer Service staff with passenger handling and other duties as needed.
- Attendance: Maintain a consistent and reliable attendance record, adhering to Company policies and procedures.
- Professionalism: Present a professional image in both conduct and appearance, including adherence to the Company uniform dress code.
- Compliance: Uphold the Company’s Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Knowledge Maintenance: Stay current with Inflight guides and manuals.
- Culture: Promote the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, with a minimum of two years of customer service experience. Must be 20 years of age by the first interview date.
- Communication: Ability to effectively read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations. Must be able to present information clearly and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public. Must be able to speak and be understood in English, including during emergency situations.
- Problem-Solving: Exhibit a willingness to work in a time-sensitive environment and handle stress effectively while meeting deadlines and managing unexpected changes. Capable of interpreting various instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to maintain composure and act quickly and decisively in all types of emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, and more.
- Decision-Making: Make daily decisions that support operations, requiring thoughtful consideration within a structured framework. Ability to process information quickly and react positively during unexpected or serious situations. Possess the ability to control personal and emotional responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
- Strength: Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Lifting: Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
- Mobility: Able to push and pull movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, potentially with aircraft turbulence. Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Vision and Hearing: Clear vision at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts. Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems, even with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Seating: Must be able to sit in the assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Confined Spaces: Ability to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Extended Duty: Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

- Customer Service: Ability to accommodate customers' special needs and disabilities.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work varied schedules, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements
- Frequent Travel: Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights. Willingness to relocate based on the Company's operational needs.
Additional Requirements
- Interpersonal Skills: Possess polished interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Service: Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Allergen Handling: Must be able to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Animal and Allergen Sensitivity: Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Tattoos: Pursuant to Republic’s Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code), tattoos are not permitted on the head, face, neck (including behind the ear), chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos are permitted on the arms, wrist, legs, ankles, and feet if less than 2 inches x 3.25 inches; otherwise, they must be fully covered by a listed, approved tattoo coverage method.
- Wingspan: Must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- Seatbelt and Harness: For safety reasons, must have the ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without an extender or other modification that may harm the integrity of the harness. (Reference: Lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened, and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened).
- Piercings: Must not have multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
