Pilot

An experienced pilot is sought to support the aircraft Captain in ensuring the safe and timely operation of aircraft, while also performing essential aircraft management duties. This role demands a commitment to safety, adherence to regulations, and a professional demeanor at all times.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Captain in flight planning, utilizing weather information and adhering to company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Conduct preflight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness, complying with FARs and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Captain to ensure flights are properly planned and fueled for safe and compliant operation.
  • Operate the aircraft safely and effectively during assigned duty periods, following the Captain's instructions, FARs, and company guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of aircraft equipment, relevant FARs, and company manuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Inform crew and passengers of any operational factors that may affect the flight, including turbulent weather.
  • Complete load manifests for each flight.
  • Contribute to a reliable and punctual operation by assisting the Captain in adhering to report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
  • Provide support at the terminal, ensuring proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo.
  • Maintain consistent and dependable attendance according to company guidelines.
  • Uphold a professional appearance and follow the company uniform dress code.
  • Act professionally at all times while on duty, adhering to the Rules of Conduct as outlined in the Flight Operations Manual and other related policies.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance performance and capabilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the company and the Captain.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must meet the minimum requirements for an ATP or RATP certificate.
  • ATP written examination preferred.
  • Must meet the current interview and hiring minimum age and flight hour requirements set by the FAA and the company.
  • Candidates who meet interview minimums but not hiring minimums may be eligible for hire upon successful completion of the interview process if they:
    • Meet the Hiring Minimums within six months of the interview date.
    • Have no certificate action since the date of the interview.
    • Have no misdemeanors or felonies since the interview date.
    • Accept a class date within six months of the interview date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior customer service experience, particularly within an aviation setting.

Language and Communication Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations, even under pressure.
  • Capacity to present information effectively and respond to inquiries from management, dispatch, crew, passengers, air traffic control, and the general public.
  • Proficiency in English, including the ability to speak and be understood, with the capacity to issue clear verbal commands during emergency situations.

Reasoning and Problem-Solving Abilities:

  • Proven ability to solve practical problems and manage diverse variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Competence in interpreting a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
  • Ability to remain composed, think clearly, and react swiftly in emergency situations, such as medical incidents, aircraft decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

Decision Making and Impact of Errors:

  • Ability to make sound decisions that support strategic direction, understanding that errors can have a significant impact on safety and resources.
  • Capacity to process information quickly and react positively during unexpected and serious situations.
  • Ability to manage personal and emotional responses and perform appropriately under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and crawling.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods without standing.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 75 pounds.
  • Must meet the visual standards required by the FAA.
  • Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person, on the telephone, and through a headset with background noise.
  • Must possess the stamina to work long hours, on sequential days, with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to move freely and quickly within the confines of the aircraft.
  • Must be able to sit in the pilot's seat or assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to withstand outdoor weather conditions in an open-air hangar and on the flight line for extended periods.
  • Must be comfortable with loud noise levels and the use of headsets.
  • Must be willing to work extended duty periods on sequential days, as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel is required up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
  • Must be able to work extended hours with minimal notice and scheduling control.
  • Willingness to relocate based on company operational needs.
