First Officer Position – Republic Airways
Republic Airways, a leading North American regional airline, seeks a highly skilled and dedicated First Officer to join our dynamic team. This crucial role provides essential support to the Captain, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely operation of our Embraer 170/175 aircraft.
Responsibilities:
The First Officer will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
- Collaborating with the Captain in meticulous flight planning, utilizing comprehensive weather data and adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections to confirm aircraft airworthiness in accordance with FARs and company procedures.
- Contributing to safe and efficient flight planning, ensuring proper fuel levels and adherence to all regulations.
- Operating the aircraft safely and proficiently under the Captain's supervision, adhering to FARs and company guidelines.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of aircraft equipment, relevant FARs, manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Informing crew and passengers of any potential weather disruptions or operational factors affecting the flight.
- Preparing and completing accurate load manifests for each flight.
- Supporting on-time operations by assisting the Captain in meeting all reporting, departure, and turnaround times.
- Providing assistance with aircraft handling, passenger service, baggage, and cargo management at the terminal.
- Maintaining consistent and reliable attendance in accordance with company policies.
- Presenting a professional image and adhering to the company's uniform standards.
- Upholding professional conduct at all times, complying with the Flight Operations Manual, Associate Handbook, and other company regulations.
- Actively pursuing professional development opportunities to enhance performance and skills.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Captain or company management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must meet the minimum requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or Restricted ATP (RATP) certificate. An ATP written examination is preferred.
- Must meet current FAA and company minimum age and flight hour requirements for interview and hiring. Candidates meeting interview minimums but not hiring minimums will be considered for hire upon successful completion of the interview process, provided they meet hiring minimums within six months, maintain a clean certificate record, have no criminal record since the interview, and accept a class date within six months.
- Prior customer service experience in an aviation environment is preferred.
