First Officer Position at Republic Airways
Republic Airways, a leading North American regional airline, seeks a highly skilled and dedicated First Officer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role supports the Captain in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely operation of our Embraer 170/175 fleet.
Responsibilities:
The First Officer will play a crucial role in all phases of flight operations, including:
- Flight Planning: Collaborating with the Captain to meticulously plan each flight, leveraging comprehensive weather data and adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies.
- Aircraft Readiness: Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure the aircraft's airworthiness in compliance with FARs and company standards. Contributing to the accurate planning and fueling of each flight to optimize safety and efficiency.
- Flight Operations: Safely and expertly operating the aircraft under the Captain's direction, adhering to FARs, company procedures, and best practices.
- Crew & Passenger Communication: Keeping the crew and passengers informed of weather conditions and any operational factors affecting the flight.
- Operational Efficiency: Supporting on-time performance by assisting the Captain in meeting all reporting, departure, and turnaround times.
- Ground Operations: Assisting with the efficient handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at the terminal.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of relevant equipment, FARs, manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Professional Development: Actively pursuing ongoing professional training to enhance skills and performance.
- Additional Duties: Performing other duties as assigned by the Captain or company management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must meet minimum requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (RATP) certificate. ATP written exam preferred.
- Compliance with FAA and company minimum age and flight hour requirements. Candidates meeting interview minimums but not hiring minimums will be considered for hire upon successful completion of the interview process, provided they meet hiring minimums within six months, have no certificate action or legal issues since the interview, and accept a class date within six months.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior customer service experience, ideally within an aviation setting.
