First Officer Position at Republic Airways
Republic Airways, a leading North American regional airline, seeks a highly skilled and dedicated First Officer to join our team. This critical role supports the Captain in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Embraer 170/175 fleet, contributing directly to our commitment to operational excellence and passenger satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The First Officer will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
- Collaborating with the Captain in comprehensive flight planning, leveraging current weather data and adhering strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections to guarantee aircraft airworthiness in compliance with FARs and company standards.
- Contributing to safe and efficient flight planning and fueling procedures, in conjunction with the Captain.
- Operating the aircraft safely and effectively throughout the assigned duty period, following Captain’s instructions and adhering to all FARs and company protocols.
- Maintaining an in-depth understanding of aircraft systems, relevant FARs, and company manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Communicating promptly and clearly with crew and passengers regarding weather conditions and other operational factors affecting the flight.
- Preparing accurate load manifests for each flight.
- Supporting on-time operations by assisting the Captain in meeting all reporting, departure, and turnaround times.
- Assisting with the efficient handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at the terminal.
- Maintaining consistent and reliable attendance in accordance with company guidelines.
- Presenting a professional demeanor and adhering to the company's uniform standards.
- Conducting oneself professionally at all times, upholding the company’s code of conduct.
- Actively pursuing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and performance.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Captain or company management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Meets minimum requirements for an ATP or RATP certificate (ATP written preferred).
- Satisfies the FAA and company minimum age and flight hour requirements for interview and hiring (conditional offers may be extended to candidates meeting interview minimums, pending fulfillment of hiring minimums within six months, with no certificate action, misdemeanors, or felonies during that period, and acceptance of class date within the same timeframe).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior customer service experience, ideally within the aviation industry.
