Position Overview
RAVN Group is actively recruiting seasoned tactical pilots to contribute to critical Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. Ideal candidates will possess a distinguished background in military tactical aviation, with specific expertise in Adversary Air (ADAIR) and Contracted Close Air Support (CCAS). This integral role involves conducting vital flight sorties and executing operational missions in direct support of national defense initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute primary flying duties, including ADAIR and CCAS sorties, in direct support of DoD contracts.
- Provide supplementary support for various Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) activities as required.
- Conduct tactical flying missions within the defense sector, maintaining required qualifications.
- Uphold and ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and operational standards throughout flight operations.
- Collaborate effectively with military personnel and fellow contractors to ensure comprehensive mission success.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen; foreign nationals are not eligible for this position.
- Possession of a current security clearance is mandatory, with a minimum level of SECRET//NOFORN.
- Demonstrated military tactical flying experience is essential. Specific requirements include:
- 500 hours of total tactical aircraft time, with current status in Armed Forces Reserve or Guard.
- Alternatively, 1000 hours of tactical aircraft time for DoD Retired or Separated personnel.
- For retired/separated candidates, 1300 hours of total flight time with a minimum of 300 hours in tactical aircraft.
- Previous experience serving as a qualified DoD flight lead (4-ship for Adversary Air, 2-ship for Contracted Close Air Support) in F- or A-designated aircraft.
- Possession of tactical flying qualifications within the last 5 years from a U.S. Military Department, a foreign DoD equivalent, or a U.S. DoD contractor supporting ADAIR or CCAS.
- Tactical aircraft time in support of ADAIR is defined as flight hours accrued in any Government-owned F- or A-designation aircraft, including T-38 ADAIR, T-38 IFF, and comparable international exchange fighter aircraft, while serving as Pilot in Command, Instructor Pilot, or Stan/Eval Flight Examiner.
- Valid FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- Hold an FAA Commercial and Instrument Rating.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Regular use of hands and fingers for object manipulation, tool operation, and control use; includes reaching.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs regularly.
- Work may occur in aircraft hangar or warehouse environments, potentially exposing the individual to loud noises, engine fumes, chemicals, variable climate conditions (hot/cold), electrical shock hazards, and trip/slip risks.
- Potential exposure to or requirement to handle hazardous materials.
- Specific work hours will be determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements, potentially including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Occasional travel to various work sites may be necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Authorization and Compliance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and successfully complete an I-9 Form.
- Must maintain a clean driving record.
