Aviation Job Description: First Officer II

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a qualified and highly motivated First Officer II to be based in Reading, Pennsylvania. This is a regular, full-time, on-site position with a night shift schedule. The First Officer II assists the Captain in all aspects of flight operations, transporting critical medical specimens throughout the Quest Diagnostics system via company aircraft.

The First Officer II supports the Captain during preflight, enroute, and post-flight phases. Responsibilities include assisting with all specimen transfers, encompassing the loading and unloading of the aircraft in strict adherence to Quest Diagnostics Flight Operation policies and the aircraft's approved flight manual. This role requires continuous professional development in both flight proficiency and specimen handling, with the goal of transitioning into a Captain's position.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM), relevant government regulations (Part § 91, 67, 61, and AIM), and other air transportation policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety, readiness, and professional piloting skills.
• Assists the Captain in the preparation and execution of safe and efficient ground and flight operations.
• Functions as the primary safety monitor during flight and remains prepared to assume the duties of Pilot in Command (PIC) should the Captain become incapacitated.
• Maintains a service-oriented attitude, prioritizing customer needs, comfort, and safety.
• Cultivates positive and collaborative relationships with Flight Operations colleagues.
• Assists with Route Service Coordinator duties as needed.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 1000 hours of total flight time.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.

Knowledge:

Comprehensive understanding of the Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM), relevant government regulations (Part § 91, 67, 61, and AIM), and other air transportation policies and procedures.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).

Licenses/Certifications:

Commercial Pilot License with multi-engine and single-engine ratings and an instrument rating (Required).
