The Opportunity

Qatar Airways is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced Type Rated Captains to join its distinguished flight crew. Type Rated Captains are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Qatar Airways' modern fleet, ensuring adherence to the highest international aviation standards and delivering an unparalleled passenger experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

Prospective candidates for the Type Rated Captain position must meet the following stringent requirements:

• A minimum of 6,000 hours of total flight time on Multi-Crew, Multi-Engine aircraft, with demonstrable commercial airline experience on a jet aircraft having a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 50,000 kg or higher.
• A minimum of 500 hours of Pilot In Command (PIC) flight time on an Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) aircraft, specifically A380, A350, A340, A330, A320, or freighter variants (e.g., A320F, A330F, A350F, A380F).
• EITHER a minimum of 2,000 hours as Pilot In-Command on Multi-Crew, Multi-Engine aircraft with commercial airline experience on a jet aircraft with an MTOW of 50,000 kg or higher; OR a minimum of 1,000 hours of Pilot In-Command (PIC) flight time on Multi-Crew, Multi-Engine aircraft with commercial airline experience on a jet aircraft with an MTOW of 50,000 kg or higher, provided the applicant is currently flying on an Airbus FBW aircraft (A380, A350, A340, A330, A320, or freighter variants).
• Possession of a current ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with a valid instrument rating on one of the aforementioned aircraft types. A Class 1 Medical Certificate, issued by the same authority, must also be held and remain valid for a minimum of two months from the potential start date.
• Demonstrated English Language Proficiency (ELP) at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
• The most recent flight on any of the specified aircraft types must have occurred within the past 12 months.
