This position requires a candidate to possess an Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence or an Australian Commercial Pilot Licence, with successful completion of all Australian ATPL Theory subjects. International applicants should consult the CASA website for license information. The applicant must demonstrate English Language Proficiency at Level 6 on their license. Furthermore, the candidate must hold current endorsements for Instrument Approach 2D and 3D on a valid Australian Instrument Rating for a Multi-Engine Aeroplane. New Zealand applicants must have converted their licenses and ratings to Australian standards prior to applying. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 700 hours of total aeronautical experience. Moreover, they must possess at least 250 hours Pilot-in-Command experience on a multi-engine aeroplane, excluding ICUS and SIM, or 250 hours Pilot-in-Command experience on a single-engine turbine aircraft exceeding 3,400kg MTOW, excluding ICUS and SIM, or 250 hours as a co-pilot in a multi-engine turbine, multi-crew aircraft, excluding ICUS and SIM. A current CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate is mandatory. The successful applicant must be willing and able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test. They must also have the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) which requires extensive background and security checks at the applicant's expense. Finally, a current passport with unrestricted access to all Qantas ports of call, with at least 12 months of validity, is necessary.
