UAS Operator (Pilot) / Flight Operations
PteroDynamics Inc. is seeking an experienced UAS Operator to join its growing engineering team in Colorado Springs, CO. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Chief Pilot.

This versatile platform excels in diverse applications, including time-sensitive delivery of critical payloads to remote locations, maritime logistics support, and reconnaissance and surveillance.
Position Summary
The UAS Operator will play a vital role in the ongoing research and development of our Transwing aircraft. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating, maintaining, and testing a growing fleet of Transwing aircraft in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Performing required inspections and operator-level maintenance of both air vehicles and ground support equipment.
- Contributing to the development and revision of manuals, test procedures, and other documentation.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Working independently with minimal supervision, both individually and as part of a team.
- Traveling frequently to our flight operations site in Colorado and to customer locations on short notice.
- Assisting with establishing new flight operations sites.
- Providing training to customers, collaborators, and internal operators.
- Supporting manufacturing, assembly, repair, integration, and ground testing of aircraft when not performing flight duties.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Documented group 2 or 3 UAS Pilot in Command (PIC) time
- Ability to obtain an FAA Class II Medical
- 5+ years of experience in Aviation, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong computer skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and aptitude for learning
- Willingness and ability to work in remote locations for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- US Citizenship/Permanent Resident Status
Highly Regarded Qualifications and Competencies:
- Experimental VTOL UAV flight test experience
- FAA Private/Commercial/Instrument/CFI/CFII or equivalent
- Experience with software scripting and programming languages
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Aerospace, or a related field
- R/C aircraft design, build, and test experience
- US DoD UAS operator and/or maintainer experience

Compensation and Benefits
PteroDynamics offers a competitive compensation package:
- Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
