Job Summary:
The Aviation Pilot and Flight Operations Manager will oversee the management of pilots and ensure compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) 604 within a corporate flight department. The incumbent will also serve as a pilot on corporate aircraft.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures adherence to safe flight procedures and training practices.
- Conducts or assigns pilots for line indoctrination and flight checks to evaluate proficiency.
- Ensures all crew members perform their duties professionally and appropriately.
- Schedules all training events for pilots.
- Reviews, maintains, and amends Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and updates aircraft publications.
- Acts as a pilot in command of corporate aircraft.
Qualifications:
- College degree in Aviation Piloting or equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Transport Canada Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) 604 related to flight operations.
- Demonstrated management experience within a CAR 604 or 700 organization.
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with a minimum of 8,000 hours of total flight time.
- Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate.
- Ability to obtain a Transport Canada security clearance and CANPASS.
- Ability to meet TSA requirements for training in the United States.
- Proficiency in both French and English. The role requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
