Air Attack Pilot Position
Ponderosa is actively seeking dedicated and experienced Air Attack Pilots to join its family in supporting critical wildfire suppression efforts.
This position plays a vital role in coordinating aerial resources during wildfire incidents. Candidates must meet stringent, non-negotiable requirements established by the US Forest Service.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Prospective Air Attack Pilots must possess the following certifications and flight experience:
- Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine Class and Instrument Rating.
- Minimum Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours
- Minimum Pilot-in-Command Total Time: 1,200 hours
- Minimum Pilot-in-Command Multi-Engine Airplane Time: 200 hours
- Minimum Fixed Wing Time (past 12 months): 100 hours
- Minimum Cross Country Time: 500 hours
- Minimum Mountainous Terrain Time: 200 hours (as defined in the Aeronautical Information Manual, Figure 5-6-2)
- Minimum Night Time: 100 hours
- Minimum Instrument Time (in flight): 50 hours
- Minimum Instrument Time (actual/simulated): 75 hours
- Minimum Make and Model Time: 25 hours (Time in AC-690 will be provided by Ponderosa during training)
