Flight Attendant - Inflight Service Department

Piedmont Airlines is seeking a motivated and reliable professional to join the Inflight Service Department as a Flight Attendant. This role is responsible for upholding industry-leading safety standards and delivering exceptional service to passengers on American Eagle flights. The successful candidate will work independently in the cabin, demonstrating leadership in both routine and emergency situations.

Essential Duties

  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers throughout the flight.
  • Manage a variety of situations while in continuous contact with the public.
  • Perform duties independently within the aircraft cabin without direct supervision.
  • Provide leadership during emergency and non-emergency operations.
  • Adapt to various climates, locations, and variable shifts.

Job Qualifications and Competencies

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Height must be between 5’2” and 6’0”.
  • Possess a valid passport for unrestricted travel to and from the United States.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Maintain a professional image: no visible tattoos, facial or multiple/upper ear piercings, or unnatural hair colors while in uniform.
  • Must be able to walk and fit comfortably down the aircraft aisle, move quickly through over-wing exits, and sit in the flight attendant jump seat without modification or seat belt extensions.
  • Willingness to work shifts up to 14 hours per day.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a clear 10-year Criminal History Records Check, driving record, and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of customer service experience.

Physical Requirements

The role requires frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, climbing stairs, and speaking for long durations. Candidates must be able to handle objects up to 50 pounds, push or pull catering carts in excess of 150 pounds, and assist passengers with disabilities, including the operation of wheelchairs.

Work Environment and Training

This position requires working in airport ramp and warehouse environments subject to noise and varied weather. Availability for all shifts—including nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours—is required, as is the ability to travel extensively and spend consecutive nights away from the base.

Selected candidates must complete 32 days of paid ground school training in Charlotte, NC, requiring residence at a designated hotel for five weeks, followed by up to two weeks of on-the-job training. Successful completion of all training phases is mandatory.
