Job Overview
Pentastar Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pilot-in-Command to join a team of three. This critical role is responsible for the paramount safety of passengers and crew, alongside ensuring the comfortable and punctual operation of the aircraft. The Pilot-in-Command will oversee the flight crew, rigorously adhering to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations and Pentastar Aviation's 91 Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
The ideal candidate will excel in a team-oriented, crew environment, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to safety, strong leadership capabilities, and superior Customer Relationship Management (CRM) skills. Exceptional customer service is a cornerstone of this position. Responsibilities encompass all facets of flight planning, and decisive decision-making regarding potential delays, rerouting, or flight cancellations. When not actively flying, the Pilot-in-Command may be called upon to assist with general departmental duties.
As a pilot with Pentastar Aviation, crew members typically fly approximately 250 hours per year. Clients generally provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice for upcoming trips.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform safe and timely flights for private VIP operations.
- Ensure all aspects of aircraft readiness for upcoming trips.
- Maintain effective communications with operations and maintenance personnel.
- Conduct comprehensive performance and flight planning.
- Maintain accurate financial and operational records for each flight.
- Foster an environment that promotes teamwork and encourages crew members to strive for excellence.
- Ensure readiness and fitness for all assigned flights.
Qualifications
- Possession of a US FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time.
- Extensive large cabin Gulfstream experience is required.
- Current and qualified or prior experience with a GIV type rating is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a changing work schedule.
- Capability to report to the aircraft within 2 hours of initial notification.
- An impeccable record, free from accidents, incidents, or violations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to and from Canada as a commercial pilot.
Additional Requirements
- Must hold a valid US passport or be a legal resident with the right to work in the US.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and Pentastar Aviation information.
- The role functions as a co-captain when not serving as Pilot-in-Command.
