Minimum Qualifications for Direct Entry Captains

Candidates applying for the Direct Entry B1900 Captain position must meet the following essential criteria:

  • A minimum of 2000 hours total flying time.
  • A minimum of 1000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
  • A minimum of 1000 hours of relevant experience, defined as multi-engine, multi-crew, IFR, and/or turbine experience obtained in 600/702/703/704/705 operations.
  • Possession of a valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
  • Possession of a valid Category 1 Medical Certificate.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, a Canadian permanent resident, or hold a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • The ability to travel to and from the United States without restrictions.
  • The physical capability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

  • Per Diem: An hourly per diem rate of $5.10 per duty hour.
