PHI Health, the leading air ambulance provider in the United States, is seeking a professional and safety-focused King Air 200 Captain to join the team in Kansas City, MO. A sign-on bonus of up to $50,000 is available for this position.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Lead Pilot, the King Air 200 Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of medical personnel, patients, and equipment. The Captain operates non-jet fixed-wing aircraft in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the PHI operations manual, and all applicable state, municipal, and customer policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive preflight and post-flight inspections.
- Safely operate aircraft while accounting for weather conditions, turbulence, patient status, and aviation regulations.
- Maintain prompt availability for all flight requests during the assigned duty shift.
- Manage the secure loading of passengers and cargo.
- Maintain clear radio communication with the Communications Center regarding flight progress, weather updates, and aircraft status.
- Provide shift briefings and recurrent training to assigned personnel.
- Participate in public relations efforts and program meetings as required.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel immediately regarding any identified aircraft discrepancies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current First Class Medical Certificate.
- Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate ratings.
- Minimum of 2,000 hours as Fixed Wing Pilot-in-Command.
- Minimum of 500 hours in Multi-Engine Turbine aircraft.
- Compliance with the Commission on Accreditation of Air Medical Services (CAAMS) standards.
- Ability to meet company weight restriction policy (maximum 235 lbs).
- Successful completion of a pre-placement physical, including a functional capacity exam (ability to lift 100 lbs), drug screening, and background check.
- Effective verbal communication skills for in-person and radio use.
- Must reside within a one-hour commute of the base.
- Successful interview and acceptance by PHI management and the customer.
Schedule and Compensation
- Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off (7&7).
- Compensation: Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits package.
- Sign-on Bonus: Up to $50,000.
