The airline is actively recruiting experienced and highly qualified aviation professionals for the crucial role of First Officer. Opportunities are available for both Boeing 737 Type-Rated and Non-Type Rated pilots seeking permanent placement at the following established European bases:
- Oslo, Norway (OSL)
- Helsinki, Finland (HEL)

Required Professional Qualifications
Applicants must carefully review the mandatory prerequisites listed below before submitting an application.
Type Rated First Officers (Boeing 737)
- Possession of a current EASA ATPL or CPL License complemented by ATPL theoretical credit.
- Valid EASA Medical Certificate Class 1.
- A minimum of 500 hours flight time on the Boeing 737 (rating must be currently valid or have been valid on an EASA license).
- Current Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME IR), preferably not expired for more than 12 months.
- English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 5 or higher.
- Possession of the legal right to live and work unrestricted within the EU/EEC region.
- Ability to successfully pass a 5-year background security check and possess a clean criminal record.
- Unrestricted Passport is mandatory.
Non-Type Rated First Officers
- Possession of a current EASA ATPL or CPL License complemented by ATPL theoretical credit.
- Valid EASA Medical Certificate Class 1.
- Successful completion of Advanced UPRT (AUPRT) and MCC course (unless the applicant currently holds or previously held a multi-pilot Type Rating under EASA).
- Current Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME IR), preferably not expired for more than 12 months.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours total flying time (Military applicants require a minimum of 800 hours total).
- Minimum of 500 hours flown on multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft.
- English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 5 or higher.
- Possession of the legal right to live and work unrestricted within the EU/EEC region.
- Ability to successfully pass a 5-year background security check and possess a clean criminal record.
- Unrestricted Passport is mandatory.
The Selection Process
The recruitment process is designed to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate's suitability and professional alignment with Norwegian’s high operational standards.
Application Phase
- Candidates must submit an application and will receive an immediate confirmation email.
- A detailed review is conducted to assess the applicant’s skills, knowledge, and motivation.
- Verification ensures the applicant fulfills all mandated minimum requirements before proceeding.
- Qualified candidates will subsequently receive an invitation to the Assessment Day.
Assessment Day
The Assessment Day provides an opportunity for candidates to interact with the recruitment team and demonstrate proficiency. The full day includes:
- A corporate presentation providing an overview of Norwegian.
- A group interactive exercise.
- A 2:1 structured personal interview.
- A comprehensive simulator session requiring the candidate to perform duties as both Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Monitoring (PM).
Outcome and Follow-up
- The outcome of the Assessment Day will be formally communicated shortly after the event.
- Successful candidates will be placed into the holding pool and will receive a potential offer based on immediate and projected operational demand.
- Candidates who are not successful are encouraged to refine their experience and reapply after a minimum waiting period of 12 months.
