Northern Rivers Aero Club | Instructor

Northern Rivers Aero Club is seeking a highly experienced Grade 1 Flight Instructor and Head of Operations to lead general aviation training at its Lismore, Australia facility. This casual, flexible role involves overseeing training operations on Cessna and Jabiru aircraft, managing junior instructors, and ensuring compliance with CASA Part 141 standards.

About the Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and expand the club's training programs while mentoring aspiring pilots. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive flight training and ground theory instruction, conducting pre-flight and post-flight debriefings, and managing student records. Key responsibilities include providing supervision and mentorship to junior instructors and maintaining flexible availability to accommodate rostering needs, including weekends and public holidays.

Requirements

• Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) - Aeroplane
• Grade 1 Training Endorsements
• Valid CASA medical certificate
• Current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• Full compliance with Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP)
• Ability to deliver flight training in accordance with CASA Part 141 Manual of Standards
• Proficiency in conducting ground theory instruction, pre-flight briefings, and post-flight debriefings
• Experience in maintaining student training files and administrative workflows
• Capability to provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior instructors
• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays

Qualifications

• Desirable: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
• Desirable: Multi-Engine Aeroplane Rating
• Desirable: Night VFR Rating
• Desirable: Flight Instructor Rating
• Desirable: Instrument Rating Training Endorsement
• Desirable: Flight Examiner Rating
