Pilot - Private Aviation
NetJets, the global private aviation leader for over 60 years, stands as the pinnacle of private travel, defined by an unwavering commitment to safety, personalized service, and reliable global access. NetJets represents the ultimate career destination, offering exceptional benefits and significant growth opportunities, backed by the resolute financial strength of Berkshire Hathaway.
The Pilot at NetJets is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience while maintaining an exceptional safety record on every flight. As the face of NetJets, the Pilot delivers not only technically accurate and safe transportation but also an unparalleled service experience for every Owner and passenger. Pilots serve as proud NetJets ambassadors, flying the world’s most influential individuals to desirable destinations across the globe within the largest, most diverse private jet fleet. NetJets’ policies and procedures prioritize safety and ensure pilots receive the flexibility, support, and resources necessary to elevate their career and enhance their life at home.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take-off, and landing for each flight in strict accordance with FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacture’s (OEM) Checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Greet Owners and passengers pre-flight, make introductions, brief them on the specific flight, verify itinerary, provide weather updates, conduct safety briefings, and explain any itinerary changes.
- Provide necessary in-flight service, including the handling of alcohol and catering.
- Load and properly stow all baggage on the aircraft as needed.
- Manage and conduct flights for Owners traveling with pets or those who smoke.
- Serve as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all areas of operation, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.

- Properly communicate any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to NetJets via the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller on duty for their fleet.
- Complete all required paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Perform other assigned duties depending on specific assignment details.
Pilot Lifestyle and Benefits
NetJets pilots enjoy a lifestyle designed for flexibility and support. With over 200 crew bases across the contiguous U.S., pilots have the freedom to live almost anywhere, as base selections are not determined by seniority. This flexibility allows pilots to choose where they call home, potentially opening new possibilities for their families without requiring relocation.
NetJets offers a range of flexible schedules with the ability to change options every four months, including 7 days on/7 days off, 8 days on/6 days off, and various CC schedules (CC52, CC60, CC72, CC76) based on base-duty days over a four-month period. Unlike many other operators, NetJets incorporates paid commute time directly into the schedule, ensuring it does not encroach upon valuable time at home.
NetJets is committed to pilot development through innovative training. It is the only private aviation company to surpass Federal Aviation Administration requirements with an Advanced Qualification Program for ongoing, personalized pilot training. The role offers dynamic flying experiences, with pilots flying to over 5,000 airports across more than 200 countries and territories, significantly more destinations than typical airline operations.
A comprehensive benefits package is provided to employees, including free coverage options for medical, dental, and vision benefits with access to extensive nationwide provider networks. The 401(k) plan features a substantial company match, contributing 66% of every dollar an employee contributes. Additional benefits include life and AD&D benefits, paid time off, company-provided uniforms with generous annual replacement credits, coverage for up to four daily tour meals, hotel expenses, and travel benefits.
