The Pilot Role at NetJets

The Pilot is fundamentally responsible for delivering a superior air transportation experience, upholding a continued safety record on every flight. As the face of NetJets, the Pilot provides technically accurate and safe transportation alongside an exceptional service experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi through landing, adhering strictly to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
  • Greet Owners and passengers pre-flight, make introductions, brief them on the specific flight/trip, verify itinerary, provide weather updates and safety briefings, and explain any itinerary changes.
  • Provide in-flight service, including the handling of alcohol and serving catering, as needed.
  • Load and properly stow all baggage on the aircraft.
  • Accommodate flights for Owners traveling with pets or those who smoke.
  • Act as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all operational areas, including compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Serve as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from arrival at the FBO until safe landing at the final destination and departure from the final FBO.
  • Properly communicate any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the NetJets Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller on duty for their specific fleet.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on the specific position and assignment.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP).
  • Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.

Experience: Not Specified (Entry requirements based on KSAOs below).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAOs):

  • Possess an FAA ATP, Restricted ATP, or meet the requirements for an FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating as follows (IAW 14 CFR 61.160):
    • At least 21 years of age.
    • Minimum total flight time experience: 1,500 hours, OR 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate, OR 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, OR 1,000 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
  • 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
  • 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings.
  • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excludes simulator time).
  • ATP written exam must be completed prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
  • 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
  • Must hold a current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
  • Must possess an FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
  • Must hold a valid passport and be capable of traveling internationally without restrictions.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
  • Must be available to work varying hours, including day and night shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must demonstrate extreme flexibility and the ability to adjust to rapid changes.
  • Must effectively manage rest to be prepared for flight duty at all times during their tour. Duty periods may extend up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days and may involve operations across different time zones and extreme weather conditions within a single trip.
  • While on duty, pilots may be away from home for seven or more days and nights, requiring stays in hotels.
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
  • Must successfully pass the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening to secure appropriate badges.
  • Must possess a valid State driver’s license.
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance, demonstrating the ability to make a positive impression and effectively interact with passengers.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to make quick and accurate decisions while maintaining close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
  • Must meet physical requirements: capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to work around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
  • Must be able to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Base Salary Range

$86,015 – $117,706
